IT'S RIDICULOUS to keep harking back to the outdated use of measurements such as Fahrenheit, and it's not just the old who do it. I'm old, but I get angry when I read about petrol going up by so much a gallon. We haven't bought petrol in gallons for years. My car does 9.5 miles to the litre. We went over to decimal money at one fell swoop, and no one would now wish to calculate the cost of things in pounds, shillings and pence.
