A recent survey suggests that local and state governments will spend more money on audiovisual equipment for public safety, emergency services and homeland security initiatives over the next three years.

The International Communications Industries Association estimates that local and state governments spend $1.2 billion annually on audiovisual equipment such as flat panel displays, projectors, videoconferencing products and other recording devices.
