20 MAY 2005 PAPE'ETE (Pacnews) ---- The French Defense Ministry has denied reports that the people of French Polynesia did not benefit from necessary safety precautions during France's 30 years of nuclear testing in the Tuamotu Archipelago.

Oceania Flash reports the denial stemmed from Tuesday's (17 May) leaked confidential military documents made available to the Moruroa e Tatou Association. The association represents former workers at the test sites on the Tuamotu atolls of Moruroa and Fangataufa.
