New Jersey-based Defense Software and Systems Inc (DSSI) has agreed in principle to buy 80.1 percent of National Semiconductor's Migdal Haemek plant for an undisclosed amount. National Semiconductor of California will retain a 19.9 percent interest in the factory. A final agreement on the deal is hoped to be realized by the end of this year. Both companies plan to operate the factory as an independent semiconductor manufacturer. National Semiconductor decided at the beginning of this year to close its Migdal Haemek plant due to a drop in the anticipated demand for the factory's ...
