Spike Lee was right when he told kids to play hooky and see Malcolm X. With this picture, he's turned the movie theater into a classroom. The viewers are his pupils--and in case some are slow, he's put the schoolhouse right on screen at the end, complete with a Special Guest Lecturer, so nobody misses the point.
