Michael O'Brien will be laid to rest Thursday at St. Peter's Cemetery in Oswego. There he will join his mother, who died in 1996, and his sister who died in 1999.

O'Brien, 39, died May 1 after falling into a 40-foot-deep crevasse on the southwest face of Mount Everest in Nepal.

A police escort accompanied the hearse carrying O'Brien's body when it returned to Oswego late Friday night.
