Maybe the only one not surprised that hip-hop/neo-soul upstart Bilal will be making his Regattabar debut this week as a jazzer is the young vocal star himself.
Fans who know his silky voice, his CD with the "Parental Advisory Explicit Content" label slapped on it and his musical hookups with Common, Guru and Erykah Badu might be in for a surprise next week.
