When Lester's Department Store, a family-run business established in 1948, grew out of its two stores in Greenvale, LI, the owners had the opportunity to lease and renovate the 10,000 s/f former Zany Brainy toy store, to combine boys, girls as well as junior apparel, shoes and accessories under one roof. Doubling the size of this boutique style store, Horst Design International, an award winning retail design and planning firm based in Cold Spring Harbor, LI created a fashionable, upscale image to complement the merchandise.
