Sandal maker Adda moves into clothing.

Apr. 20--The sandal maker Adda (Thailand) Plc says it is moving to diversify from footwear to the general apparel business this year in order to increase sales.

Prasit Pruksapornpong, the company's president and CEO, said the prospects of the apparel business remained bright and there were fewer competitors in the jeans business than in sandals, particularly local brand names.

Diversification will also help position the company better for its planned stock market listing later this year.
