AT A RECENT CEREMONY IN NEW York, Abdul Al Latif Al Mayah, an Iraqi university professor and human rights activist, was awarded the Civil Courage Prize, "for steadfast resistance to evil at great personal risk", by the Northcote Parkinson Fund, a private US foundation that promotes political liberalism.
