A COVENTRY man who helped smuggle a family of Jews out of Germany during the Second World War and lost 24 members of his own family at Auschwitz, has died, aged 89.

Jack Neith, of Hillman House, Smithford Way, city centre, died at Walsgrave Hospital last month following a short illness.
