Tom Rinaldi, who was the founding wine-maker at Duckhorn in Napa, and made wine there for 22 vintages, joined the Chalone Wine Group a few years ago. He is making wine at Provenance Vineyards and Hewitt Vineyard, taking part in what he calls the "Rutherford Renaissance."
Historically, the Rutherford area was of huge importance to Napa wines.
