GREENSBORO -- Freckle-faced Jimmy Carson got a boost from his mom so he could reach the microphone.
He stood tall, as tall as any third-grader can, on top of the metal chair and faced the panel of 11 adults who would make a decision dear to his 8-year-old heart.
