Robert Neville of Boston University published his book on Boston Confucianism in 2000, tracing the origin of this phenomenon back to two Confucian-Christian Dialogue conferences held in Hong Kong in 1988 and in Berkeley in 1991. Thus, when a whole book is written on a topic, it must be taken seriously. I personally participated in four such from 1988 to 1998, wherein new ideas and new territories were explored.
