THE lady in her Sunday best prods at a piece of paper fluttering on the pavement with the point of her umbrella, spears it in one fell swoop, and disposes of it in a litter bin. She is the human embodiment of the scene that surrounds her: pristine little streets, permanently in their Sunday best and cocooned in the lea of the natural amphitheatre that rises gently all around the village.
This is Glyn Ceiriog, a mere six miles from the English border but managing to maintain its uniquely Welsh character seemingly against all odds.
