Franquismo: movimiento político y social de tendencia totalitaria, iniciado en España durante la guerra civil de 1936-1939, en torno al General Francisco Franco. Las "familias" institucionalizadas del régimen de Franco fueron: el Ejército, la Falange y la Iglesia católica.

Los oficiales que se adhirieron al alzamiento militar del 18 de julio de 1936 fueron una minoría, pero fueron después los más leales colaboradores de Franco, ocupando Ministerios y altos cargos civiles.
