It was a cold winter day. The tailor of Yedlinek was sick in bed, and there was no one to deliver the clothes to his customers in the large town of Zborov. The tailor's wife didn't know what to do.
"Let me go, Mother!" said the tailor's son, Elijah. "I'm old enough to walk to Zborov by myself. I'll be very careful."
His mother didn't want him to go, but there was no one else to send, and the clothes had to be delivered.
"Wear your father's new coat, Elijah," she said. "That will keep you warm." She placed the big, heavy coat around his shoulders. ...
