Feb. 5--CHEYENNE -- One of the goals Gov. Dave Freudenthal outlined in his State of the State address is one step closer to reality with the passage of Senate File 41 on first reading Friday in the Senate.

The bill, titled "Wildlife and Natural Resource Funding Act," would establish a trust fund to help preserve the wildlife and habitat in the state. The amount to be deposited in the fund started at $75 million, but was reduced to $15 million by an amendment proposed by Sen. Stan Cooper, R-Kemmerer.
