Technion - Israel Institute of Technology Department of Environmental Engineering's Dr Marcelo Juanico has developed a low cost urban effluent purification system that will enhance food crop irrigation in the Jezreel Valley, Israel. Jezreel Valley economic changes and population growth necessitated that the 7 million tons of sewage produced annually receive upgraded purification. More than 50 farm settlements and 7 cities will cooperate in using the new Juanico process.
