ZOO UPDATE: JJ THE MANDRILL.(Weekend)

The Rosamond Gifford Zoo will soon celebrate the birthday of JJ, its male mandrill.

JJ turns 17 on Sunday. In captivity, mandrills can live to be 46 years old.

Mandrills belong to the baboon family. They live in West Africa and can be found in the low levels of trees and on the floor of rainforests, where they dig up fallen fruits, tubers, roots, herbs and leaves.
