Retailers expect some Golden Globe glory for winning films and TV shows on DVD. Studios, though, are mostly saving their promotional energy for the Oscars, the cream of the crop of Hollywood awards shows.

Globe statuettes were all over the map this year, with no one star or film breaking away as a clear favorite. Consequently, few consumers might be moved to buy DVDs related to the Jan. 16 telecast. Also, the Globes show has arguably lost some of its retail firepower since the Oscars moved closer to it on the calendar last year.
