RICE SINGS IN TUNE WITH U.S. POLICY ON BELARUS - MP

Deputy Chief of the National Security Commission of the Lower Chamber of Parliament of Belarus, Viktor Guminski, reckons one should not be surprised at the statement by U.S. Secretary of State-designate Condoleezza Rice - it fits into the U.S. general policy on Belarus.

"The U.S. pressure on Belarus has been incessant due to the fact that we are an independent sovereign state. This diverges from the principles of the global policy pursued by the United States," Guminski told Interfax.
