Make this holiday season special with the sparkle of silver.
But that silver tray you got for your wedding shower, Grandma's silverware or those decorative candlesticks may need a little polishing before they're ready to be put on display.
Silver is one of the element metals that tarnishes or reacts with sulfur compounds in the air. Heat and humidity hasten the reaction.
Other items to keep away from silver include latex gloves, rubber bands, wool, felt and food, especially eggs, onions and mayonnaise.
