Paolo Cruz had put the Army behind him and moved on with his civilian life. But the Army didn't let go of Paolo Cruz.

The 23-year-old Aurora man, an inactive ready reservist with four years left on his enlistment contract, was called back to active duty in September, two years after he'd left the service.

He was sent to Fort Sill, Okla., and ordered to prepare for a yearlong deployment overseas.
