Hyderabad, Dec 25 (PTI) Amidst chanting of hymns from the ancient Vedas, the body of former Indian Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao was consigned to flames on Saturday with full military honours on the banks of Hussainsagar lake here as thousands of mourners bid an emotional farwell to the son of the soil who made it to the highest political office in the country.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who was initiated into politics by Rao and was his Finance Minister to steer liberalisation in the last decade, attended the funeral along with his wife Gursharan ...
