ON OCTOBER 25, NEW ENGLAND LOST ONE of its greatest environmental heroes in Judge A. David Mazzone. It was in Mazzone's courtroom that CLF argued some of the most important federal cases in the organization's history: lawsuits that prevented oil and gas drilling on Georges Bank, cleaned up Boston Harbor, and took major steps toward ending overfishing in New England.
