UK independent Regal Petroleum has commenced a drilling program on its Suceava Block.
Suceava is one of the largest exploration blocks in Romania with an area of over 4,000 sq km, in the northeast of the country.
Following a seismic survey, Regal has confirmed three well locations and other structures for future drilling. Drilling has started on the first well, SE-1, in the northwest of the license area, and is scheduled to target a depth of 2,100 meters by the end of February, following which the 2005 drilling program will be decided.
