Dec. 12--George Overpeck was hawking Alaska seafood in Washington, D.C., in the winter of 2000-2001, when he mentioned to chefs that along with the salmon, he had some oysters coming in.
"I didn't even know how to shuck them, but the chefs shucked them, took a taste and said, 'Start sending them. How much do you want?'" Overpeck said.
"Price was secondary. They wanted them on their menus."
