Half-Life 2 is definitely living up to expectations in the computer-game category.

Released Nov. 16, Vivendi Universal Games shipped 1 million units to U.S. retailers, which have sold more than 250,000 copies of the action shooter in one week.

The highly anticipated title is the follow-up to one of the most popular computer games of all time, Half-Life, which launched in 1998 and has sold more than 8 million units worldwide since 1998.
