NEW YORK - Walter Elisha, chairman/chief executive officer of Springs Industries, Inc., has been named by President Bush to his Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations for a term of two years.
Elisha is the only textile industry executive on the 44-member committee, and is believed to be the first ever to be named to that group.
Industry leaders have mixed feelings on the appointment, but most see it as a positive move and a possible indication of change of attitude by the Bush Administration toward the textile industry and its campaign ...
