Elite purchases French co. (Elite Israel Chocolate and Sweets Manufacturing Company Ltd., Societe Alimentaire du Forez)

Confectionery and food manufacturer Elite Industries, in partnership with the Union Coffee Confectionery Group of Germany, has acquired the French chocolate manufacturer SAF - Societe Alimentaire du Forez. Elite is investing $7.65 million for a 51 percent shareholding and Union Coffee is investing $7.35 million for the remaining 49 percent. SAF is located in St. Etienne and ended 1991 with sales of $55 million.
