NEW YORK - Imports of all-silk fabrics into the U.S. last year were at 5,937,187 square yards, which was down drastically from 29,099,761 square yards imported in 1990, according to statistics compiled by the International Silk Association here.
No explanation for the decline was offered by ISA.
The three leading countries in shipments to the U.S. were Italy, India and Korea.
