The chemical name of nicotinic acid is pyridine-3-carboxylic acid. The different blends with nicotinamide are collectively called vitamin PP. Nicotinic acid can promote metabolism in cells, expand blood vessels including cerebrospinal blood vessels and accelerate kidney congestion. It also has the effect of releasing spasm of blood vessel endings. When used as feed additive, it can increase the utilization rate of feed protein, the milk yield of cows and the output and quality of fish, chicken, duck, beef and mutton.
