As operators continue their efforts to drive pay sales, there has been some degree of division as to who provides the best bang for the buck - multiplexing or the so-called value-added mini-pay services, such as Encore and the proposed Flix.

Programmers on both sides of the fence have been doing a lot of finger-pointing over which approach is the most likely to cannibalize, rather than drive pay sales.
