In ultrasensitive calorimetry, which is also known as isothermal titration microcalorimetry (ITC), a sample or reactant is injected into a calorimeter chamber that already holds a substance of interest. Heat released by the added sample provides information about the interactions of molecules and can help researchers determine the volumetric and thermodynamic properties of the tested substance.
