VERONA -- It was as simple as one team taking advantage of its opportunities, and another team not.

The Verona prep football team used a stifling defense, a balanced offense and some big plays at key moments to defeat Westosha Central 27-6 Saturday afternoon in the second round of the WIAA Division 2 playoffs.

"They shut us down," Westosha Central coach Jeff Tracy said. "They're big and physical and they out-physicaled us."
