In September 1935 the artist Ben Nicholson opened a show of all-white paintings at the Lefevre Gallery in Bruton Street, Mayfair.

There were 19: seven called 1934, 12 called 1935. The Daily Mail went to the private view. It called it: 'London's Strangest Exhibition.' 'Marvellous!
