Quarter of working families fall into low-income range.

More than one in four working families earn so little that they are considered low-income, a new report found.

Too many jobs pay too little and provide no benefits, according to the report from the Working Poor Families Project, a program of the Annie E. Casey, Ford and Rockefeller foundations. Overall, more than a fourth of working families of four had incomes of less than $36,488, which is far less than the median national income of $62,732 for a family that size.
