It suffered in the recent downturn, as did most businesses reliant on corporate marketing budgets, with business-to-business publishers and exhibitions companies among the most exposed.

Now, though, Emap has highlighted dramatically improved trading in its exhibitions business, and analysts expect United Business Media, Daily Mail & General Trust and Reed Elsevier to report similar trends.
