Oct. 16--The blimp is back, and it's ready to be taken seriously.

The Charlotte region is home to one of just a handful of companies across the country that are poised to benefit from a resurgence of interest in airships -- the category that encompasses vehicles variously known as blimps, dirigibles or zeppelins. They're defined by their ability to fly by means of lighter-than-air technology, usually helium.
