Senior captain and offensive guard Bob Edington picked up a teammate's fumble and barreled into the end zone with 7:30 left to break a scoreless tie and give Dighton-Rehoboth (5-0) a 7-0 victory over South Coast Conference rival Apponequet last night.
Junior nose tackle Tyler Lingard had 10 tackles, two forced fumbles, and a sack to preserve the shutout for the unbeaten Falcons.
Chaz Merritt rushed for a pair of scores and C.J. Merritt added two TD receptions as Wareham (2-4) defeated Seekonk, 44-12.
