With my hand on the good book (the Larousse encyclopaedia of food), I promise to try very hard not to use the word 'perfect' too often in this review. But it is nigh on impossible.

Our subject this week is, after all, the much-heralded new Simpsons restaurant in Edgbaston, creation of Michelin-starred chef-owner Andreas Antona. And deeply impressive the place is too, both for its fabulous food and as a venue.
