Jim McKay makes small realist films (Girls Town, Our Song,) that deal with the social and psychological dynamics of urban life. His new film focuses on one long day in the life of Raskin's, an aging Brooklyn neighborhood restaurant that is in the process of being sold to a real estate consortium with plans to bring in a Banana Republic and other sterile, standardized chain stores in a spurt of gentrification.
