Can Wi-Fi help save Pershing Square?
The downtown Los Angeles park has been dogged by an image problem ever since it was dubbed "America's biggest Skid Row park" by legendary urban planner Jane Jacobs in 1961.
Despite periodic efforts at reinvention, most recently with landscaping, summer concerts and holiday programming, the location at Fifth and Olive streets is still considered a place to be avoided by tourists, downtown workers and area residents.
