I am the child of two alcoholics. I grew up with drinking alcohol as a common, accepted behavior. I enjoyed drinking in college and as a young working adult. Then I married an alcoholic. He was able to drink heavily at night and go to work every morning. While I did not drink as heavily as he did, I drank with him in the evenings for lack of anything better to do.
