LOS ANGELES -- NARA BANCORP, INC. (Nasdaq:NARA), the holding company of Nara Bank, N.A. (the "Bank"), today announced that Standard & Poor's, a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE:MHP), will add Nara Bancorp in the S&P SmallCap 600 index after the close of trading on Wednesday, October 6, 2004. Nara Bancorp is the first Korean community bank to be included in the S&P index.
