(AMEX: ESX), a multi-thrift holding company based in Virginia Beach, retracts a press release disseminated on May 1, 1992, which reported that Essex Financial Group, Inc., had been replaced as General Partner of Essex Financial Partners, L.P., and Lawrence N. Smith had been replaced as president and chief executive officer of Essex Bancorp, the savings and loan holding company that is wholly owned by Essex Financial Partners, L.P.
