Real and perceived threats of the dangers attributed to toxic mold are creating havoc for homeowners, commercial businesses and insurance companies, as they face fears of possible physical harm, ruined property values and scenarios of mounting claims.

This development has been particularly troublesome for the insurance industry. In the past few years, a virtual avalanche of allegations that mold poses a health danger is sending shock waves through an already over-taxed property and casualty insurance marketplace.
