Aug. 28--A group of 150 Connecticut ob-gyns, which threatened to charge an extra $500 for each pregnancy because of rising malpractice costs, says it has convinced health insurers to raise the doctors' reimbursements instead.
Women's Health Connecticut, which had planned to start charging the "baby tax" for obstetrical care that starts Sept. 1, said Friday it will not need to levy the $500 surcharge in most cases.
