The Bureau of Reclamation, an agency of the U.S. Department of the Interior, formed a partnership to develop advanced remote-sensing technologies to manage water resources in areas with current or potential water conflicts.

The collaborative effort involves the bureau, the International Center for Water Resources Management at Central State University in Ohio, the Ohio View Consortium and the Colorado State University. The Bureau of Reclamation is the largest wholesale water supplier and second-largest producer of hydroelectric power in the United States.
